an dem ich viel in Bernard Moitessier’s “La longue route” gelesen habe. Wir habe supertolle Penne von Jo serviert gekriegt und meine beiden französischen Freunde hatten beide in der letzten Nacht Durchfall. Fisch? Wasser? Man(n) fragt sich. Ich hatte nichts dergleichen.

where I read in Bernard Moitessier’s “The long way”. He sailed around the world without stepping on land in the 60ies. This was all part of a race set up by Lloyd’s in England. After having succeded in doubling all three caps (good hope, Leeuwin and Horn), rather than getting the trophy and the money, threw the idea of winning away, helped another competing ship which was in trouble, did good hope and Leeuwin a second time and sailed to Tahiti – and became a national hero for the following French sailing generations.
We had some incredible Penne made by Jo. My poor French friends had diarrhea the last night. Fish? Water? Since I am neutral, I was spared…
